The OT Practice has an established team of occupational and physiotherapists specialising in neurological care, offering either one-off assessments and recommendations or a programme of one-to-one treatment.
We are experienced in treating a range of neurological conditions, including:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Traumatic Brain or Head Injury
- Parkinson's Disease
- Motor Neurone Disease
- Stroke
Every client is given a thorough, individualised home assessment to establish what his or her difficulties are. Subject to our clients’ wishes, family members or carers can also be involved.
Treatments for such symptoms as lack of balance or coordination, memory problems, weakness of limbs, ‘freezing’, fatigue or incontinence can be devised by our physiotherapists, while our occupational therapists can focus on minimising their effects on day-to-day life.
This may include the provision of equipment or adaptations to clients’ homes which maximise independence - we regularly provide specifications for wet rooms, ramps and ground floor extensions. Meanwhile, our six-week Falls Prevention Programme is a successful addition to the range of treatments we now provide.
