Joanne is a highly skilled Paediatric OT based in Magherafelt, Mid-Ulster. She visits clients across Northern Ireland, including Belfast, Tyrone, Antrim, and Londonderry. Joanne has over 10 years of experience, working with children with many different conditions and functional needs. She aims to maximise a child’s independence, developing self-care skills such as toileting, washing, dressing, and feeding.
Joanne provides assessments and treatment in either a home or school setting, considering a child’s fine and gross motor skills, behaviour, social integration, and more. Joanne has specialist background working with autism spectrum disorders and is trained to conduct Assessments of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) which will measure a child’s activities daily living. This analyses how the child performs during these tasks, looking at their level of independence, safety, and efficiency.
Joanne aims to work with child to develop a daily routine and enable them to confidently complete daily tasks. This also includes managing any anxiety and social difficulties.
Joanne is a member of The Royal College of Occupational Therapists and is committed to her continual professional development.
