Alison has over 30 years of experience in Occupational Therapy and currently visits clients across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Gloucestershire. She helps clients with complex needs including learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, physical impairments, and long-term health conditions.
Alison utilises her expertise in learning disability and mental health alongside her extensive expertise in person-centred practice and personalisation. She provides comprehensive assessments and interventions for clients in their home environment, helping them to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. Alison can support clients with neurological conditions, using standardised assessments which focus on cognitive and physical impairments. She once led a national provider to develop a new model of personalised provision for people with Huntington’s disease, acquired brain injury, and motor neurone disease. Recently, Alison has also developed clinical expertise working with adults and young people who have severe mental health issues, both in the community and in hospitals.
Alison is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Specialist Section for Independent Practice and develops her expertise through continuous professional development including networking with other Occupational Therapists, attending courses, and completing self-directed study.
