School Based Therapy/Support
Tahira has over 15 years' experience as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist. Her specialist interests and skills are in developmental language disorder and speech sound disorders and has worked in preschool, primary, and secondary age settings in both mainstream and specialist provisions. Tahira is currently located in Middlesex, near Twickenham and Hounslow, and visits clients across London.
For the past 10 years Tahira has worked as a lead therapist in primary language bases and a secondary autism base attached to mainstream schools. She has developed her expertise on a wide range of conditions including autism, learning difficulties, and selective mutism. She utilises this experience through her private work and thoroughly enjoys supporting children and their families.
Tahira has relished opportunities to introduce and develop therapy approaches in her previous and current roles e.g. Lego therapy groups, inclusive storytelling, and social skills groups. In particular, Tahira developed a selective mutism clinical pathway to be used across the speech and language therapy team, training both therapy team members and parents. Tahira was highly involved in developing a clinical pathway for selective mutism in her NHS role, and has delivered bespoke training to school staff, nursery staff, and parents over the years.
Tahira is just one of our nationwide network of therapists.
