Joanne is an expert paediatric occupational therapist, having spent her career working with children, their families and carers to help them improve their quality of life. She is based in Surrey and works within the county, as well as travelling in and around London. Since qualifying in 2007, Joanne has completed a number of postgraduate courses to complement her clinical work, including a qualification in sensory integration.
Joanne has gained experience working in various paediatric settings, including clinics, schools and within the community. She has treated children with various conditions, including Developmental Coordination Disorder, autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and supported children with perceptual and handwriting difficulties.
When carrying out assessments, Joanne considers the child's needs, the management of those needs and the intervention required to support participation and performance. Using this information, goals and treatment programmes are created which aim to help reach the child's maximum potential. This includes looking at gross and fine motor skills, self-care skills and implementing sensory strategies that can be used at home and in school.
Joanne is committed to continuing her learning and often attends paediatric conferences and seminars.
Joanne is just one of our nationwide network of therapists.
