Having qualified in 1987, Carmen has spent her career working internationally, including France, South Africa and now in the UK. She specialises in paediatrics, having completed training in therapeutic listening and attachment theory, as well as qualifying as an advanced sensory integration practitioner. Carmen works in the South of England, visiting clients in Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and South London.

Carmen has worked in a variety of paediatric settings, treating very diverse population groups. She has experience working as a community paediatric occupational therapist, assessing and treating children with a variety of conditions, disorders and syndromes, including developmental delay and learning difficulties, mild neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, sensory processing disorder and autism.

Since 2013, Carmen has worked as an independent OT, supporting children with sensory needs, movement difficulties and challenging behaviours at home and in mainstream, independent and special schools. She works collaboratively with the child and their family, creating bespoke treatment packages, including home programmes and sensory diets. Carmen also provides support to families and schools through educational and healthcare plans, treatment programmes and consultation.

Carmen has provided numerous training sessions and workshops to teachers, support staff, OT colleagues and parents on sensory processing, an area she is very qualified in and passionate about. She continues her membership of the Sensory Integration Network, as well as the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Sections in Independent Practice and Children, Young People & Families.

Carmen is just one of our nationwide network of therapists.
