Rafaela

Working across London and the Home Counties, Rafaela is an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist specialising in sensory integration, fine and gross motor development, and neurodevelopmental conditions. She supports children and young people aged 9 months to 19 years with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Developmental Coordination Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and Global Developmental Delay. Her expertise includes sensory processing, handwriting assessment and intervention, coordination, social participation and school-based Occupational Therapy.

Rafaela has experience delivering comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions across clinic, community and school settings. She works collaboratively with children, families, education staff and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, support participation in everyday activities and address barriers to learning. She also contributes to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes and supports children with learning disabilities, genetic conditions and muscular dystrophy.

Rafaela takes a holistic, family-centred approach, developing trusting relationships and tailoring interventions to each child’s individual strengths, needs and goals. Her experience as a carer for her older brother, who has a significant motor disability, has further strengthened her empathy, resilience and commitment to advocacy.

Rafaela qualified in Occupational Therapy at the University of West Attica in 2020, completed a qualification in Special Educational Needs at the University of East London in 2021, and undertook Sensory Integration training at Sheffield Hallam University in 2023. She is registered with both the HCPC and BAOT and is committed to helping children achieve meaningful outcomes at home, at school and in the wider community.
