Based in North West England, Katy is an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist with over two decades of experience supporting babies, children and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurological and complex medical needs. She has supported children with autism, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, global developmental delay, neuromuscular conditions, including Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and life-limiting conditions requiring palliative care.
Katy has extensive experience working across neonatal, community and specialist paediatric services, including nurseries, mainstream and special schools, colleges, family homes and children's hospices. With postgraduate training in sensory processing, she has particular expertise in understanding how sensory differences influence participation, relationships, self-esteem and everyday functioning. She delivers comprehensive sensory assessments, including sensory profiling, and uses sensorimotor approaches to support regulation, motor development and functional skills. She also has experience in equipment provision, multidisciplinary goal setting and a range of standardised paediatric assessments.
Committed to child-centred, evidence-based practice, Katy works closely with children, families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies that enable every child to reach their full potential. Katy is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), including the Children, Young People and Families Specialist Section.
