Melissa is an experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist specialising in paediatrics and sensory integration. Based in Cumbria, she provides specialist Occupational Therapy assessments across Cumbria, North West and North East England. Melissa has experience supporting both children and adults with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behavioural presentations. She has particular expertise in sensory processing, behavioural management, functional assessment and intervention planning.
Melissa completed postgraduate studies with Sheffield Hallam University and qualified as a Sensory Integration Practitioner in 2025. Alongside her work with The OT Practice, Melissa holds a senior role as Lead Occupational Therapist within a specialist service for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, where she provides clinical leadership and person-centred assessment and intervention.
Melissa is committed to evidence-based, client-centred practice and ongoing professional development. She brings a thoughtful, compassionate and analytical approach to her work, helping individuals achieve greater independence and quality of life.
