Gemma

Gemma is an experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in Functional Rehabilitation, Moving and Handling, Seating and Postural Management, and Housing and Equipment. Based in Somerset, she provides specialist Occupational Therapy assessments across Somerset and Devon, supporting adults and older people with a wide range of physical and neurological conditions, including brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Huntington’s disease and dementia.

Gemma qualified with a First-Class Honours degree from Oxford Brookes University in 2008 and has worked across NHS and charitable organisations, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and social care colleagues. Her extensive rehabilitation experience spans hospital, community, clients’ own homes and care home settings. She has particular expertise in mobility, seating, environmental adaptations, moving and handling, equipment prescription, Blue Badge assessments and mobility assessments.

Gemma takes a person-centred approach, working collaboratively with clients to understand what matters most to them, set achievable goals and maximise their independence and quality of life. She is HCPC registered and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
