Types of work for Independent Paediatric OTs: Who do we help?

The independent sector offers Paediatric Occupational Therapists the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients from many different settings. Here are just some of the streams of work available to our associates.

  • Private referrals – We support families by understanding their personal needs, location and goals in order to match the child with the most suitable therapist.

  • Schools – Our team deliver expert care to both state and private schools, working collaboratively with staff to ensure that students maximise their potential.

  • Charities – We proudly deliver services to charities throughout the UK, including supporting with grant funding applications or arranging major home adaptations.

  • Local Education Authorities – We regularly provide assessments and treatment on behalf of LEAs, whether requested by a school or part of an EHCP.

  • Solicitors & Case Managers – Our Paediatric OTs provide assessments, reports and treatment for children to many of the country’s leading firms.

Our associate OTs are based all across the UK, from Cornwall to Inverness, Belfast to Cardiff. Most of our team undertake independent work alongside other roles, usually dedicating 2-3 days a week to supporting private clients. You can find out more about our OT Practice Kids team here.

If you would like to hear more about joining our team of OTs, you can send any questions you have to emma@theotpractice.co.uk. If you are interested in joining now, you can apply directly here.
