Based in Chelmsford and working in Essex and East Anglia Ekaete’s main area of experience is Neurological Rehabilitation in adults and children, specifically Brain and Spinal Injury. Ekaete provides therapy, improving Daily living skills, and Gross and Fine motor skills. Also, Ekaete completes assessments for Guillain Barre, Dementia, Autism, Down’s syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Ekaete is experienced in conducting assessments and using the appropriate tools and a person-centred approach to develop intervention plans for adults. She is skilled at providing and evaluating patient intervention, completing home visits and ordering equipment, and making recommendations and referrals based on a client’s needs. She collaborates with MDTs and other professionals regarding plans of care and service development. In previous roles, Ekaete managed departments (for example, in Intensive Care, and Cardiac and Oncology units) and caseloads for slow stream and rehabilitation pathways.

As a clinical educator with an interest in research, Ekaete is passionate about promoting evidence-based practice among her students. Accordingly, she has achieved a MSc and is currently pursuing a professional doctorate in Occupational Therapy on a part-time basis.
